I\u2019m a container junkie; I just realized that today as I stood washing out another wine bottle destined for my window sill. I\u2019ve always known I was a \u2018bag lady\u2019 because I love bags of all shapes, sizes and condition. Bags are the one thing I can\u2019t resist at a good yard sale or flea market. Not so much hand bags; I carry a very small leather wallet-purse that I\u2019ve had for eons. But beach bags, shopping bags, totes of all kinds. I especially love bags with lots of pockets and dividers \u2013 nooks and crannies for all my junk. Consequently bags are the one staple on any of my own yard sales and often find their way to the Goodwill \u2018bag\u2019 as well.<\/p>\n
But today as I washed out that green bottle that, to me, had an unusual shape I realized I\u2019m actually a collector of containers of all kinds. Not only do I love and collect bags and bottles, I also have a fare number of cigar boxes, storage baskets and tins. I have several wooden \u2018memento\u2019 boxes and now that I think of it, close to a hundred cardboard boxes set aside for sending packages and\/or packing up when the inevitable move takes place. I kept \u2018moving boxes\u2019 from when we moved in 9 years ago and have been adding to the pile ever since. I find it very difficult to toss or recycle a box that comes in the mail. I always think I will need it someday.<\/p>\n
I also have lots of little containers for pills, pins and buttons. I could take a different pill \u2018box\u2019 with me everyday \u2013 if I were also a pill junkie, which I\u2019m not.<\/p>\n
I have over a dozen buckets for collecting weeds and things in my gardens; buckets for washing up, carrying water, mixing potting soil. I also have about a dozen plastic containers for storing stuff; camping gear, recycle, kindling\u2026I have at least a half dozen watering cans. You just can\u2019t have enough watering cans, even though you only have the two hands to carry them with.<\/p>\n
Yep, I\u2019m a real container junkie; and now that we are planning that move in the near future I have to go through all those containers and clear them of whatever I don\u2019t really need and oh, by the way, get rid of the containers too!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
