At 12 years old, Diego Duran was too young to go out partying on
\nNew Years Eve, so he went out into the yard of his Ruskin, Florida
\nhome with his parents to watch the fireworks. His mother saw him
\nslump to the ground, with blood coming out of his nose and mouth. He
\nwas rushed to the hospital where it was determined that he had been
\nstruck in the head by a .45 caliber bullet. Police believe it had
\nbeen fired into the air in celebration by someone as far as a mile
\naway. Diego has undergone several brain surgeries and is now
\nrecovering at home. The gunman has never been identified.<\/p>\n
Hannah Kelley, 20, was attending the service conducted by her
\nfather at Grace Connection Church in Pinellas County, Florida last
\nSunday. After the ceremony, Moises Zambrana, who handles the sound
\nsystem for the church, took Dustin Bueller and another man into a
\ncloset. Bueller, who was dating Hannah Kelley, was interested in
\nbuying a gun, and Moises wanted to show him his 9 mm Ruger. He
\nejected the clip and, while \u201cdemonstrating the safety features,\u201d
\naccidentally fired the gun through the closet wall, striking Hannah
\nKelley in the head. Zambrana, who is licensed to carry a concealed
\nhandgun, stated he did not know there was a bullet in the chamber. At
\nthis moment Hannah Kelley is in critical condition in the hospital.

\nan automatic renders it safe, then perhaps owning a gun is not the
\nbest choice for you. But if you do insist on exercising your 2nd<\/sup>
\nAmendment rights, then by all means go ahead and buy a gun. Save your
\nmoney, though, and only buy one bullet. Load it in the gun, lie down
\nin the bathtub, and use it on yourself. You will make guns safer for
